Behavior Management Policy - As a registered child minder, I aim to offer a quality childcare service for parents and children. I recognize the need to set reasonable and appropriate limits to help manage the behavior of children in my care.

I do not and will not administer physical punishment or any form of punishment with the intention of causing pain or discomfort, or any kind of humiliation or hurtful treatment to any child in my care.

Child Protection Policy - Statutory Agencies (i.e. Education, Health, Social Services, Probation, Police and NSPCC) work together using Area Child Protection Procedures. The Area Child Protection Committee has representatives from all of the above agencies and promotes and monitors the procedures. Whilst I am not a statutory agency I aim to work in a way, which provides the same level of protection to children that are in my care.

Additional Needs Policy - I am aware that some children may have additional needs. I am prepared to make the necessary steps to promote the welfare and development of the child, while in my care. I will also work in partnership with the child’s parents and any other relevant parties.

Equal Opportunities Policy - All children in my care will be treated fairly and equally regardless of their color, gender, racial, religious or family background and with due regard to any disabilities. All children including minded children and my own children will be encouraged to show mutual respect.

Accidents Policy - In the case of an accident I will put the needs of the child first and act accordingly. I will ask you to sign giving consent for me to seek emergency treatment if necessary.

Emergency Procedure Policy - In the event of an emergency, the children’s safety is the most important thing on my mind. I will contact whichever emergency services are required. I will aim to contact all the parents of the children involved as soon as possible.

Sick Children Policy - Caring for sick children is not part of the child minding service and you should keep your child at home or collect them if they are unwell, as infection may spread to other children and their families.

Confidentiality Policy - All the information that I have will be kept in your child’s file. This is only accessed by me, which is available for you to see at your request.

Please note that these are a brief summary of some of my policies. The full policies are available in my portfolio available to view in my setting.
